In March 2022, I told a group of people enrolled in the pilot of my program Sustainable Cadences that their life's purpose is not to be service. I told them that there's a difference between your purpose and your service and that the greatest lie of capitalism is the idea that you as a human were created to serve other humans.

This idea, that our purpose is somehow deeply rooted in serving other people paired with the concept that we should derive deep joy from that service is deeply problematic and a tragic symptom of empire.

When I said these words almost three years ago, it rocked people's worlds, and when I said it again later that summer to a new cohort and again the following year when I did a guest lecture in my best friend's program Corporate to Creative, it rocked those people's worlds too.

For too long, we've been living our lives according to someone else's rules and in alignment with someone else's rhythm because we've been told that our main purpose in life is to serve those people.

This space, Sustainable Cadences, is a place where we explore what it means to live according to our rhythms. Well, not our rhythm; your rhythm.

This is a space where I talk about what it is to change your relationship to time through practice by tapping into and honoring your instincts and your needs.

I'll share my unique methodology for practicing Sustainable Cadences in your own life (be warned: it involves a ton of astrology) and I'll document my own journey of living a life of Sustainable Cadences as an entrepreneur building a company from the ground up (The Everyday Lawyer).

If you're wondering what it is to place yourself at the center of your life and live your rhythm, then I invite you to stick around, explore, and practice living your rhythm with me.
